Good Medicine

Proverbs 17:22
A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

If you could only hear and see our 2 1/2 year old sing this verse!  Her facial expressions are priceless as she sings with a happy heart and wide, gleeful eyes.  No matter how long and hard the day, singing God’s word brings joy to a weary heart.  A joyful heart truly is good medicine.  May we take an ample dose each day.

A Joyful Heart

Psalm 19: 7-9
The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul.
The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever.
The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous.

Cultivating a joyful heart takes the tender, yet powerful work of the Holy Spirit through the reading and meditating on the words of our Lord.  Help me, Jesus, to take the time to be in your Word each day, meditating, applying, and loving your words.  May they give light to my eyes and joy to my heart, reviving my soul.  Amen
